We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of large-scale enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Java, SQL databases, Linux environments, and enterprise application support. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop high-quality solutions, troubleshoot complex issues, and participate in application modernization initiatives, including legacy mainframe migration to Java-based platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise Java applications.
• Support large-scale production applications and resolve complex technical issues.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database interactions.
• Work in Linux environments to deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain applications.
• Collaborate with business analysts, developers, QA teams, and stakeholders throughout the SDLC.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Use Jira and other Atlassian tools to manage tasks, defects, and project activities.
• Contribute to application modernization initiatives, including migration from legacy mainframe systems to Java/SQL platforms.
• Perform code reviews and follow coding standards and best practices.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.

Required Qualifications

• 15+ years of hands-on Java development experience.
• 10+ years of SQL database development and optimization experience.
• 8+ years supporting and developing large enterprise applications in a team environment.
• 5+ years of Linux experience.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, application architecture, and software development best practices.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with the Atlassian tool suite, especially Jira.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Experience supporting State of Texas applications or the Texas Department of Public Safety.
• Experience modernizing legacy mainframe applications to Java/SQL-based solutions.
